The Binance CEO referenced an analysis conducted by Andrzej Gwizdalski, a lecturer at the University of Western Australia, which gathered data from reputable sources like the United Nations, World Economic Forum, and Cryptoanalysis. In contrast to the popular narrative among some bankers, the study revealed that crypto fraud accounts for less than 1% of the trillions of dollars linked to illegal activities within the traditional fiat monetary system. Notably, the data highlighted that fiat currencies like the U.S. dollar are implicated in an estimated $3.2 trillion in illegal activities annually.
