Cybercriminals have been sending fraudulent emails that seem to come from Coinbase and Gemini, instructing users to transition to self-custodial wallets.
Fraudsters are sending fraudulent emails impersonating Coinbase and Gemini, instructing users to transition to self-custodial wallets.
The scam involves guiding users to download legitimate wallet apps but using pre-generated recovery phrases controlled by scammers, allowing them to steal funds once assets are transferred.
To seem more credible, the emails reference legal cases, falsely claiming court rulings require users to migrate.
OKX recently detected a coordinated effort by the Lazarus group to misuse its DeFi services.
OKX temporarily suspended its decentralized exchange (DEX) aggregator to prevent misuse by the North Korean hacking group Lazarus.
The exchange is conducting an internal review and upgrade after consulting with regulators but has not provided a timeline for the service's return.
While crypto wallet services are still available, OKX paused new wallet creation in select markets during this period.
Solana (SOL), the blockchain that is known for its speed and scalability, reached its five-year anniversary on Sunday.
Solana co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko celebrated "Solana 0 block day" on X, joined by key projects like Phantom Wallet and Pump.fun.
Despite the celebration, Solana's active user count has been declining since November of 2023, with March expected to record even fewer users than February.
The decline is linked to the fading popularity of Pump.fun, which faced investor skepticism after meme coin scandals.
US President Donald Trump’s second ex-wife, Marla Maples, showed her support for ending the country’s case against early Bitcoin advocate Roger Ver.
Maples shared a video on X supporting the dismissal of Roger Ver’s prosecution, tagging Trump, Elon Musk, and US Attorney General Pam Bondi.
The US Department of Justice charged Ver in April of 2024 with mail fraud, tax evasion, and filing false tax returns.
,Many high-profile people in the crypto space, including Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin and Silk Road creator Ross Ulbricht, have also called for the prosecution to be dropped.
