The Japanese investment firm Metaplanet now holds about 6,796 Bitcoin, which is currently worth more than $700 million.

  • Metaplanet surpassed El Salvador in Bitcoin holdings after purchasing 1,241 BTC for approximately $129 million at an average price of $101,843 per coin.

  • The Tokyo-listed investment firm now holds 6,796 BTC—worth around $707 million. These tokens were bought at an average acquisition cost of $91,000 per Bitcoin.

  • CEO Simon Gerovich declared the milestone on X, and stated that the company is “just getting started” with its aggressive Bitcoin accumulation strategy.

Ledger confirmed the compromise of its official Discord server after a moderator account was hijacked to spread phishing links.

  • Ledger's Discord server was compromised on May 11 after a moderator's account was hacked and used to share malicious links that were aimed at stealing users’ wallet seed phrases.

  • The breach was quickly contained, but some users claimed the attacker misused admin privileges to silence those reporting the scam.

  • This latest attack follows an earlier phishing attempt in April, where scammers mailed fake Ledger-branded letters with QR codes to trick users into entering their recovery phrases.

Uniswap hit a whopping $3 trillion in aggregate all-time volume, which made it the first DEX to hit the number.

  • Founder Hayden Adams celebrated the milestone on X by posting that the DEX surpassed $3 trillion in all-time trading volume.

  • Uniswap is the top DEX with around 23% market share and daily volume between $3–3.3 billion, ahead of PancakeSwap’s $2.7 billion and 21% share.

  • Uniswap's total value locked (TVL) is just under $5 billion, roughly half its 2021 peak, after the broader DeFi ecosystem's TVL dropped to around $124–$132 billion.

Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong admitted that the crypto exchange debated adopting a Bitcoin-centric treasury strategy similar to that of Strategy.

  • Coinbase considered adopting a Bitcoin-heavy treasury strategy like Strategy’s but ultimately rejected it over concerns it could jeopardize the exchange’s stability.

  • CFO Alesia Haas explained that Coinbase didn’t want to risk alienating users by favoring one crypto asset over others.

  • Meanwhile, Conor McGregor advocated for a national Bitcoin reserve in Ireland, framing it as a move that could restore financial power to the public.
