Almost half of the participants in a recent CoinGecko survey are bullish over crypto AI tokens prices.

  • A CoinGecko survey of 2,632 respondents found that 44.3% are bullish on crypto AI tokens in 2025, while 29% remain neutral and 26.3% are bearish.

  • Interestingly, similar sentiment was observed for crypto AI products, driven by improving use cases and wider adoption, according to CoinGecko analyst Yuqian Lim.

  • Lim noticed that the findings suggest market participants see crypto AI as a whole, rather than distinguishing between its investment potential and technological development.

Eric Trump joined Metaplanet as part of the company’s strategy to expand its influence in the digital asset space.

  • Metaplanet appointed Eric Trump to its newly formed strategic board of advisers, due to his business expertise and commitment to Bitcoin adoption.

  • CEO Simon Gerovich believes that Trump’s experience in finance, real estate, and brand development, along with his strong ties to the Bitcoin community, will be instrumental in accelerating the company’s growth.

  • The announcement triggered a 17+% surge in Metaplanet’s stock, which means that investors are confident in the firm’s strategic direction.

Spot Ethereum ETFs in the US are evolving rapidly, with a growing push to allow staking and enhance investment returns.

  • NYSE Arca recently proposed a rule change to allow Bitwise’s spot Ethereum ETF to engage in staking.

  • BlackRock’s Head of Digital Assets, Robert Mitchnick, supported the move, and stated that staking could unlock additional demand and transform how investors interact with Ethereum ETFs.

  • When Ethereum ETFs launched in July of 2024, they lacked staking capabilities. Issuers like BlackRock and Fidelity secured regulatory approval but had to forgo staking, which limited potential yield generation.

South Korean authorities are considering blocking crypto exchanges that may have operated without sticking to the requirements set by the country’s financial regulator. 

  • South Korea’s Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) is considering sanctions against crypto exchanges for allegedly operating without proper regulatory reporting.

  • Under the Specified Financial Information Act, crypto exchanges must register as Virtual Asset Service Providers (VASPs) with financial authorities.

  • The FIU is investigating exchanges and consulting with related agencies, with potential sanctions including blocking access to unregistered platforms as part of its countermeasures.
